Nkashi

A powerful documentary film was produced to celebrate the stories and triumphs of three Mokoro polers, paying tribute to Botswana’s cultural heritage and the enduring importance of traditional knowledge. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Okavango Delta, the film highlights how local communities continue to thrive by preserving and passing on ancestral wisdom. Created through a collaborative effort between Batswana and National Geographic Society filmmakers, the film not only honors the people of the Delta but also reinforces the global relevance of their knowledge and way of life.

Premiered at Riverwalk’s New Capitol Cinema in Gaborone, with a parallel screening held at a custom-built cinema and reception glass airconditioned glass tent at Cresta Maun, the event welcomed distinguished guests, including His Excellency Dr. Mokgweetsi E.K. Masisi and National Geographic CEO, Jill Tiefenthaler.

The project required full-spectrum event execution across two locations — Gaborone and Maun. Our responsibilities included:

• Project and event management
• Event design, production and technical direction
• Budgeting and expense tracking
• Show direction and participant coordination
• Vendor sourcing and management
• Administrative support and insurance
• Publicity and media coordination

Our approach focused on delivering a culturally respectful and logistically seamless experience across both premiere locations. We designed immersive environments that reflected the film’s themes, coordinated show flow and participant involvement, and ensured smooth collaboration with stakeholders. Every detail—from set-up to guest experience—was carefully managed to honour the story being told and amplify its impact both locally and globally.
