Background

In July 2024, the Botswana Tourism Organisation hosted a luxurious VVIP experience at the iconic Makgadikgadi Salt Pans, known as the cradle of humankind and the world’s largest salt pan. This exclusive event celebrated Botswana’s natural heritage and offered a unique opportunity to immerse distinguished guests in the stunning landscape and culture of this extraordinary region.

Scope

Our task was to design and deliver a series of experiential marquees that provided comfort, elegance, and a memorable setting for VVIP guests. Key elements included:

  • Conceptualization and styling of marquees
  • Use of rich, warm color tones including oranges, cream, gold, and nudes
  • Comfortable, elegant furnishings and décor to enhance the natural surroundings
  • Coordination of logistics, setup, and guest services in a remote outdoor location
  • Integration of local cultural elements to enrich the guest experience

Our Approach

We crafted an inviting and sophisticated atmosphere within the marquees by combining earthy and warm color palettes that harmonized with the natural environment. Using luxurious textures and tasteful décor, we created spaces that felt both intimate and grand, ensuring guests were comfortable while surrounded by the majestic salt pans. Our design focused on blending experiential elements with refined hospitality to celebrate Botswana’s unique landscape and cultural richness.

Summary of Our Approach

We delivered an elegant and immersive VVIP marquee experience that balanced luxury with the natural beauty of Makgadikgadi, using warm, rich tones and thoughtful design to create a welcoming and memorable setting for distinguished guests.
